That doesn’t necessarily mean that organic is better than conventional. We have many producers that use soil health management systems with reduced or eliminated pesticides and reduced fertilizer and the health of the soil can be significantly higher than organic single crop or only two crop rotations and full tillage. There’s good and poor producers in all realms. Best to be more inclusive. Until there’s full on research showing; with trials that showcase all of the idiosyncrasies of the systems and the nutritional value of each we can’t say that one system is altogether better than the other. It is nature and a system which is very hard to elucidate what exactly is making the improvement they don’t do a good job determining this, I have read hundreds upon hundreds of research papers it’s all in the materials and methods. Uni’s still can’t do this in simple two crop systems, some b/c they complain they can’t eliminate the variables some b/c they don’t want to look at all the variables b/c it wont’ fit their statistics. We need more system researchers less reductionism.

Vivian Kanchian just posted a scientific article which compares nutritional quality of food grown with regenerative farming to conventional. I posted this to my profile as well. It is scientifically documented that soil quality, being that of a robust soil food web, significantly increases the quality of nutrition in our food.

The markets are flooded here with these sorts of shenanigans. Unfortunately convicted felons, and drug cartels from Asia and Mexico are the ones driving this. This is why it is necessary to weed out the criminals.

We should be promoting good safe food. Scientifically one is not better than the other. A group was formed in Michigan to promote locally grown. It was going ok until they they started trying to promote organic and the group died. Both types produce food and that’s what we are all about.
