This is how I’ve stored massive amounts of turnips a couple years ago. A friend of mine told us to get a box and layer the turnips and cover them in sand. We stored our turnips that year and as long as they weren’t touching, they were perfectly fine. Id also like to add that we stored them over winter in the garage so it was a dry, cool place. ^THIS^
If the air in the storage space is particularly dry, the sand can be dampened to avoid dessication but not wet enough to encourage rot.

Maybe digging a ‘root cellar’ may work. Or leaving in the ground and harvest as needed.

We’ve heard that storing them in dry sand in the garage or basement is a good method here. The garage is uninsulated and the basement doesn’t get below 60F.

May I get your advice please?
