But the beginning of the article presents a significant contradiction:
“The Department of Labor has finalized new rules that advocates say will slash farmworkers’ hourly wages. The move will freeze minimum wages….”
Freezing minimum wages, is not the same thing as “slashing” wages, which implies that there would be a significant reduction in wages. Rather, It means that they will not change for a period of time.
Again, It’s OK to oppose this move, but the first sentence is incorrect.
