I have to have a low water dish because I have two very small ducks. But the bigger ducks are sitting in the smaller water dish and then laying their eggs inside it. My question is, if those eggs have been sitting in water for who knows how long, are they safe to eat? My thought is they probably are not.

That is not normal. It is the opposite – the duck egg yolk is bigger than a chicken egg. I question whether or not you have duck eggs.

We eat only ducks eggs and they are great for every recipe.

Ducks have a claw like nail on their webbed feet, which could scratch the egg. I have found that when I wash eggs with a new scratcher pad like scotch bright it can scratch the surface. If you use a scratcher pad that is well used, it won’t scratch. I dip the eggs in bleach water for a few minutes before I wash and they look very clean. Chicken eggs get dirty too. Dirty eggs can be because the ducks or chickens have muddy feet. Duck eggs taste almost the same as chicken eggs. I think they are a tiny bit sweet.

I have ducks and chickens. When my wife bakes a cake with a mix of the two eggs the taste is acid. When only uses chicken eggs there is no acid taste. Do you know what could be the cause? I already thought about the lake water, because there is a factory near my home and I know that the water has high levels of phosphate. Or maybe duck eggs are more acid?

They are just as safe as hen eggs, but a lot tastier, truly 100% better than hen eggs. Try them, you will become addicted.
