How long will this last? My normally very friendly tom has been aggressive and flew at my granddaughters, who’ve helped us raise them. So he’s used to having my granddaughters around. They are petrified of him now, so I’m not letting the turkeys out to free range like we normally do.

Change the male or send the female to a different and well matured male
You can even Hilda the female down and the male will come and mount it .this has happened to me in a couple of days now

That’s the best that you can do so far, to change the male or you have to wait more time, since they grew up together they are like siblings. Just borrow or exchange your male I am telling you. One more thing, I have a question, Is your male starting to exhibits a mating behavior “courtship with the female? dancing and encircling it?” if not your male not yet grown up.

It is right after you deliver the new male turkey. Just make sure it is on the right age. I recommend this also for some turkey hens that was already with the male for a long period of time and not laying eggs. Thank you.]]> In reply to abdul musawer.

That’s because heritage turkeys and the broad breasted birds he’s referring to are very, very different.

The hens have been laying eggs since they were 20 weeks old. So many eggs. Never a fertilized one. The toms don’t seem to have any sperm now. What can I do to help get some fertilized eggs?
